Anything about crystal, send it

Almost everything written about crystal is written by someone selling it. What is missing is everyone else: what buyers were told at the counter, the checks people work out for themselves, the stone somebody could not stop looking at. All of it belongs here.

What happens to it

Every submission is read. Selected pieces are published; where a piece turns on an identification, the reasoning is written out underneath — what it shows, what it cannot, and where the evidence runs out.

Before you send

• If a shop, seller or account is named, the name comes out before publication. What gets published is the stone and the reasoning, not a named party.
• Nothing is published without asking you first. Your own name appears only if you ask for it.
• If you later want a published piece taken down, say so and it comes down.
• Photographs are useful as a record. No identification is issued from a photograph.
