Send us what happened to you

Most of what is written about telling real crystal from fake is written by people selling crystal. What is missing is the other side: what buyers were actually told at the counter, what they paid, and what turned out to be in their hand.

What happens to it

Every submission is read. Selected accounts are published with the identification reasoning written out underneath — what the account shows, what it cannot, and where the evidence runs out.

Before you send

• Shop names, seller names and account names are removed before publication. The account is about the stone and the method, not about a named party.
• Nothing is published without asking you first. Your own name appears only if you ask for it.
• If you later want a published account taken down, say so and it comes down.
• Photographs are useful as a record. No identification is issued from a photograph.
