The seller standard
Almost every guide to buying crystal is written by someone selling it. This page is the opposite: it is the checklist we apply to a seller, published in full, so that you can apply it yourself to any seller — including one we have never heard of.
The four things a seller has to be able to answer
What being listed here does not mean
It is not a guarantee of any individual stone. It is a record that the seller answered the four questions above in writing and agreed to keep answering them. Every stone still has to stand on its own examination, and where a specimen is worth more than roughly US$300 the correct step remains a report from a testing laboratory.
For sellers
The standard is open. Answer the four questions in writing and we will publish the answers next to your name, unedited. Nothing is paid for and nothing is removed on request except by correction.
